Progress, well, a little!

I think I am on my last cop of spinning for the gift elf project! whew. I just finished spinning the cop (maybe the last? I'm sure I'm 2/3rds of the way on the knitting, at least) needed for my project and setting it, winding it on my ball-winder, and tied it onto the knitting. I hope I can get rolling on it again since the last month I kinda ran down about my fiberarts, life got in the way they would say. So now I want to get it moving! How is everyone else doing??

Latest Pairing

And, as far as I can tell, that's everyone who's joined for now. If you don't have a partner, and you think you've joined, please let me know ASAP.

Rules, Regs. And Suggestions

I"m going to be putting the current date on this every couple of days, so it stays pretty much on top, and easy to find. I'll also be adding info as questions come up, so please go to the bottom of the post to see if there's anything new.

So, direct from the forums, here are the rules and regulations of this year's gift exchange, all in one, easy to find place.

1. I pair ppl up as they join.
2. Partners communicate likes/dislikes with each other (sample questions can be found below).
3. The partners decide whether to exchange handknits or other. They don't both have to do the same thing. EDIT We've decided to make our preferences clear ahead of time, so someone who can only send a handknit doesn't get paired with someone who only wants related stuff. The ppl who don't care either way will still get to decide in their pairs. So, answering # 6 and 7 is really important.
4. We will spend approx. $20.00 on handknits, or $25.00 on other in our native currency (25.00 US, 25.00 CDN, 25.00 Aus, etc.)
5. I need to know if anyone is unwilling to pay overseas shipping, and I need to know where everyone (country, that is) is, so I can do my pairings accordingly.
6. I'd like to know if you have a strong preference for handknit as opposed to knit related stuff.
7. I'd need to know if you don't have time/desire to knit, so I don't pair you with someone who only wants to exchange hand knits under #6.

In order to make this as fair as possible, please leave the pairing to me. If you want to do your own pairing, you are, of course, free to do so, but you don't need to join in here.

Sample Questions: These are just an idea of the info you can exchange with your partner. I don't need to know this stuff to pair you up.

1. What are your favorite things to knit?
2. Do you knit socks?
3. What are on your needles right now?
4. What is your favorite type of yarn?
5. What are your favorite colors to knit with?
6. What are your favorite types/brands of yarn?
7. What knitting books do you have?
8. What types of books/patterns would you like to have?
9. What knick-knacks (sp?) would you like to have (yarn cutter, point protectors, etc.)
10. Are there yarns that you hate knitting with?

Personal info:
1. Do you have any children?
2. Do you have pets?
3. What is your shoe size (a little wierd I know, but I thought if I wanted to make socks if I have time)?
4. Favorite candy/snack food?
5. Coffee or tea?
6. Food or fiber allergies?
7. Do you have a blog?

Again, the point of all this is to have fun, so please don't stress out over it, OK?

Oh, and I've turned comments off on just this post. If you feel that you absolutely have to make a comment, please PM me.

Sept. 12 EDIT

We've had some questions as to when the gifts should go out. As far as I'm concerned, that's not my decision. Whatever the partnership decides is btwn the two of them.

We got a really early start this year, a good month and a half earlier than last, but ppl were chomping at the bit, so to speak, so I went with it. This means that the efficient among us will have completed their task well before the holiday season. What they want to do after that is totally up to them.

Sept. 23 EDIT

I've been getting careless, somehow, so my latest rule is:
If you think I've screwed up, let me know! Don't worry about hurting my feelings or bugging me. I have not left you off on purpose, but I do make mistakes, OK?
